This page describes log machines used for producing of poles and post.
RLM-160 is log trough-pass machine with rotary type milling head. RLM-160 productivity is up to 500 linear foot of logs per hour what is up to 4000 linear ft (log truck load) per 8h work shift. This high performance log (rod) milling machine produces poles, posts of round profile (dowels). The productivity can be increase with usage of automatic log infeed and outfeed systems.
The machine can be equipped with sawing device which allows rip sawing of dowels if necessary (model RLM-160S). Such configuration turns small diameter logs (timber) into lumber. To read more about solution to recover lumber from rods and small diameter tree, please click here.
RLM-160 is heavy duty machine able to produce nice looking product just in one pass. Power of rotary mill head is 22KW (29.9HP). Power of additional device for rip sawing is 11KW (15HP). Max butt rod diameter is 9.5" (240mm). Finished diameter can be set in range between 2.5 and 6.25" (60 and 160mm). Min length of rod is 62"(1.6m). Machine weigth is 6615 lb (3000 kg), dimensions: L=2.6m, W=1.4m, H=2m.
